Rachel Black has been a dynamic performer since the ripe old age of eight. During one of her mother’s many opera performances, Rachel joined in singing with her mother unplanned from the audience. The little girl was singing so good that her mother stopped and brought her to the stage so Rachel could finish her aria O mio Ba Bino Caro sung entirely in Italian on the stage where she belonged. That was her first standing ovation but not her last.
Although, Rachel was being groomed to follow in her mothers’ footsteps as a classical opera singer, she was seduced by the rhythms of jazz, the beats of hip hop and the soul of R&B. She studied artist like Billy Holiday, The Emotions, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and Donny Hathaway. All these things helped shape Rachel into the unique singer/songwriter she is today.
